The Summer Before We Left, my first full-length novel, is officially available in Kindle, paperback, hardcover, and audiobook editions. After publishing two collections of short stories, releasing a full novel feels both exciting and deeply personal.
This story follows best friends Milo Ford and Noelle Serrano during one last summer in their small town. They are working at Thornbrook Country Club, saving every dollar, and planning their escape to Chicago. What begins as a simple summer job slowly turns into something much more complicated. Keys vanish. Stories stop lining up. A fire leaves more questions than answers. And Milo and Noelle find themselves standing much closer to the truth than they ever intended.
At its heart, this is a coming-of-age story wrapped in mystery and romance. It explores friendship, loyalty, class, first love, and the moment you realize you can no longer look away from what is happening around you. It asks what we owe to each other and how far we are willing to go once we see the truth clearly.
If you’d like to get a feel for the story before purchasing, I’ve made the first two chapters available to read for free on my website:
